Webinar - Virtual Teams: The Essentials of Boundaryless Project Management
In today's economic climate, many companies are challenged to maintain operations and conduct projects with limited internal resources, more employees working from home, and more externally hosted applications requiring vendor partner involvement. These are the ingredients that make it highly likely for a project team to consist of one or more virtual members.
In this webinar, Bonnie Cooper (PMP®, Director of the IT Program Office) and Mark Fung-A-Fat (Director of Software Development and Operations) of the Massachusetts Medical Society, will give a detailed outline of what the Society has learned in creating and managing a virtual workforce with offshore (India) developers, employees and vendor partners situated outside the physical headquarters.
Key learning points from this webinar include:
-A concrete application of A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) for planning, acquiring, and developing a project team with virtual members, and the creation of an effective communications strategy
-Case studies from the Society’s experiences with virtual teams that highlight their lessons learned
-Practical advice for the distinct challenge of engaging an offshore partner
-About Bonnie Cooper, PMP®: A lead instructor and presenter for Corporate Education Group, Ms. Cooper is also a twenty-year information technology professional, currently Program Director for the Massachusetts Medical Society’s (MMS) Corporate IT Program Office. In her current role, she is responsible for coordinating the efforts of project teams, overseeing the implementation of project standards, managing the corporate IT strategic plan, and leading the program to re-engineer the membership platform for MMS.
-About Mark Fung-A-Fat: Mr. Fung-A-Fat has been with the Massachusetts Medical Society (MMS) for ten years and is currently the Director of Software Development and Operations. In this role, he and his team are responsible for all IT systems that support the business processes of MMS.
