PMI Certification

The Boston University Corporate Education Center (BUCEC) is a charter member of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) and is the only university that is part of PMI's corporate council.

BUCEC provides PMI certification programs, including the Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification, the most widely known certification program for project management professionals. The PMI certification program maintains ISO 9001 certification in Quality Management Systems, demonstrating its commitment to professional excellence.

The PMI certification program offered through BUCEC delivers world-class project management courses based on the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®).

PMP Certification Is Recognized Globally PMI, the world's leading not-for-profit project management professional association, establishes, administers and maintains PMI certification standards.

By passing PMI certification testing requirements, individuals prove that they have the skills necessary to execute projects on time and within budget. Given the rigorous and comprehensive PMI certification testing requirements, PMI certification is recognized and respected globally.

Requirements for PMI Certification To be considered for PMI certification, candidates must first meet specific education and experience requirements and agree to meet PMI's strict code of professional ethics. The final step to receiving PMI certification is to pass a multiple-choice, 200-question examination designed to measure project management knowledge. PMI certification exam questions are created by other professionals who already have achieved PMI certification. Those who receive PMI certification must continue to demonstrate ongoing project management expertise by completing continuing education requirements that supplement PMI certification.

BUCEC and PMI Certification BUCEC assists students in obtaining PMI certification by helping them prepare for the PMP exam. BUCEC's "Preparing For the PMP Exam" helps students identify their strengths and weaknesses through an understanding of the nine technical skills needed for successful project management. These skills, identified by PMI and incorporated in its Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK), include the ability to manage project integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurement.

Advantages of PMI Certification Obtaining PMI certification will give you the project management skills to excel at your company. These skills will make you a more productive and valued contributor to current and future employers. Consider enhancing your project management skills and marketability by working toward your PMI certification.
